Russia and India seek to localize nuclear fuel production
Pars Today – The CEO of Rosatom announced that the Russian nuclear company is negotiating with its Indian partners on the possibility of localizing nuclear fuel production in India.
Alexey Likhachov, CEO of Rosatom, told Russia’s Channel One in an interview: “Our goal is not to create dependency, but to localize production as much as possible in India, including nuclear fuel production. This matter is under review.” He also noted that Rosatom has signed a memorandum of understanding with India on the construction of new nuclear power plants, the expansion of low-consumption units, and cooperation with Indian partners to localize a wide range of fuel cycle capabilities. / IRNA
