Shooting at U.S. university leaves two dead

Pars Today – A shooting incident at Brown University in Rhode Island left two people dead.

The Providence Police Department reported that a large-scale operation to locate the suspect(s) involved in the Saturday evening shooting, which also left several injured, is ongoing. The initial report of the shooting came from near one of the engineering school buildings.

Minutes later, a new report indicated another shooting near Governor Street in Providence, prompting authorities to advise everyone to remain in safe locations.

In response, Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee stated that the state police and crisis management teams are assisting local authorities and urged the public to stay clear of the area.

University and police officials emphasized that investigations are ongoing, and further information will be released as details become clear. / IRNA
