Lebanese army statement on clashes with Syrian interim government forces

Pars Today – The Lebanese Army announced that following a border clash with forces of the Syrian Interim Government, the situation returned to normal after contact was established between the two sides.

In its statement, the Lebanese Army said that on December 14, 2025, a military unit conducting a patrol in the Al-Musharrafah–Al-Hermel area came under gunfire from Syrian territory. The Lebanese forces returned fire toward the source without any casualties among their troops. The army added that after the incident, contacts were made between the Lebanese Army and the responsible Syrian authorities, and the situation returned to normal.

At the same time, local media reported that the incident occurred during the pursuit of a smuggling group in the northern Bekaa region. / IRNA
