Pars Today – The spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Palestine said that the living conditions for children in the Gaza Strip are dire due to cold weather, heavy rainfall, and flooding.

Kazem Abukhlef, UNICEF’s spokesperson in Palestine, emphasized that the level of need in Gaza is immense. While 600,000 blankets and 7,000 tents have been distributed, these amounts are far from sufficient. He also noted that the heavy rain is seeping into the tents.

UNICEF had previously warned that storms and torrential rains in Gaza put the lives of more than 800,000 people at risk, half of whom are children. Criticizing the global response to the situation, UNICEF added that the international community has failed, leaving the children of Gaza vulnerable to preventable deaths during winter.

Since the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, 82 children have lost their lives, a shocking figure that must be urgently addressed. / IRNA
