Caracas responds to Trump at UN

Pars Today – Venezuela’s representative at the United Nations condemned Trump’s claim of U.S. ownership over Venezuelan territory and oil resources, warning that the era of colonialism is over.

The UN meeting on International Day for the Elimination of Colonialism became a stage for a frank denunciation of White House policies. Samuel Moncada, Venezuela’s permanent representative to the UN, described the former U.S. president’s recent statements—demanding the immediate surrender of Venezuela’s oil resources—as a heinous insult and a violation of all human civilization norms.

Moncada said that Trump aims to turn back the clock of history and turn Venezuela into a colony once again, and emphasized that no legal instrument in the world can remain silent in the face of such monstrous declarations. He added that colonialism is an aggressive crime, and the Trump administration is imposing chaos and destruction on international relations. / IRIB
