Crisis deepens in Israeli army; Zionists take to streets
Pars Today – The worsening manpower shortage in the Israeli army and the regime’s efforts to enlist Haredi Jews have triggered protests across the occupied territories.
So-called Haredi Zionists (ultra-Orthodox Jews) held demonstrations against compulsory military service in the Israeli army, blocking Route 4 in the Bnei Brak area in central occupied territories.
Israeli police, declaring the protests illegal, were deployed in the area. Hebrew-language media reported that the demonstrations disrupted traffic heading toward the city of Petah Tikva.
The ongoing manpower crisis in the Israeli army has shifted attention toward making military service compulsory for Haredim, an issue that has fueled escalating protests among the ultra-Orthodox community. /Mehr News Agency
