    Iranian President Hassan Rouhani voices hope for broader ties with Georgia

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in a message to his Georgian counterpart Salome Zourabichvili, congratulated her on the National Day of the Caucasian country, and voiced hope for deeper relations between Tehran and Tbilisi.

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Independence Day of Georgia to the government and people of the country, wishing that the bilateral relations get boosted.

In a message to his Georgian counterpart, President Rouhani congratulated May 26 which marks the country's national day.

May 26, 1918, is the day of the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Georgia and its independence from Russia.  

Rouhani also expressed hope that during the office term of President Zourabinchvili, the bilateral cultural, political and economic relations of Iran and Georgia get promoted.

Iranian president highlighted the importance of historical and cultural commonalities as well as abundant economic, political and cultural capacities of the two countries.

He wished prosperity and success for the Georgian president and people.
