Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup: Iran 5-3 Egypt

In the 2019 Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup, Amir-Hossein Akbari has inspired Iran to beat Egypt 5-3, and advance to the semi-finals.

According to Press TV, after 2 periods of play, the defending champions Iran came twice from behind to get in-front 3-2, thanks to goals from Mostafa Kiani, Amir-Hossein Akbari and Mohammad Masoumizadeh.

In the final period, the Egyptians managed to level the game with a long-range curling shot, but the joy was short-lived, as Akbari stole the spotlight with a booming volley from the halfway line, to restore Iran’s lead.

The Iranians, tapped in on a corner-kick to seal the victory. In the last group-stage match on Thursday, Iran will meet 3-time champions Russia, to see who will advance as group toppers.
