The Iranian Defense Ministry on Sunday unveiled a “Standard Document” on Passive Defense.

According to Tasnim news agency, the Passive Defense Standard Document of Iran was unveiled in Tehran in an event attended by Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Qassem Taqizadeh and Head of Passive Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali.

According to the deputy minister, the homegrown document provides a set of standard passive defense instructions at all levels.

The document has been prepared by Defense Ministry experts in collaboration with the Passive Defense Organization of Iran.

In 2014, General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces unveiled the country’s Passive Defense National Strategy Document.

In comments in October 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the important role of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization in countering enemies’ threats and urged all military and non-military sectors to closely cooperate with the Organization.

The Leader stressed the need for Iranian officials in all sectors to pay heed to the importance of passive defense, saying if they fail to understand the importance of this issue and the passive defense does not develop properly, the country will be exposed to threats with irrecoverable effects.
