President hails Iran’s success in withstanding sanctions

President Hassan Rouhani admired the Iranian people’s resistance against the economic war imposed by enemies, saying the time has come for the termination of the sanctions.

According to Tasnim news agency, in comments on Tuesday, the president praised the Iranian nation’s admirable resistance and fortitude in nullifying the cruel sanctions and economic war.

It is now the time for the removal of the sanctions, one of whose main consequences is fluctuating prices in Iran, he added.

The president said the enemies had formulated cruel sanctions with a wrong assumption that the Islamic Republic would withstand the pressures for only a few months, but the Iranian nation’s maximum resistance foiled the full-blown economic war.

In remarks in November 2020, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei urged Iranian officials to concentrate efforts on thwarting and overcoming the sanctions instead of seeking their removal, pointing to the unsuccessful outcome of years of negotiations for lifting the sanctions.
