  • President highlights Iran’s push for economic independence

President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi hailed the country’s efforts to gain economic independence in the face of outsiders as a manifestation of the Islamic Republic’s anti-arrogance nature.

According to Tasnim News Agency, in remarks at a meeting with the elites, scholars, and war veterans in Semnan Province on Thursday evening, President Raeisi said, "By relying on God and trust in the domestic resources and capacities of the country, especially our talented human resources, we can solve problems."

"The United States wanted to cause serious problems to the Iranian people with maximum pressure, but today even our enemies admit that the maximum resistance of the Iranian people has defeated the maximum pressure of the enemies and today the position of the Islamic Republic is stronger than ever,” he noted, according to the government’s official website.

"Paying attention to cultural issues and religious and revolutionary principles can further manifest anti-arrogance, so it is necessary to redouble efforts to explain the principles of anti-arrogance," Raeisi underlined.

Emphasizing that anti-arrogance should also be manifested in the field of economic issues, the president said, "The most important manifestation of anti-arrogance in the economic field is to achieve economic independence from foreigners and to adopt prosperity strategies and remove barriers to production."

"Today, producers, economic activists, workers and farmers, no matter how much they try for the independence of the country in the field of production of basic goods and needs of the people, are in fact on the way to confronting arrogance," he stated.
