Daily deaths from COVID-19 down to 7 in Iran

The daily death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran declined to 7 individuals on Thursday.

According to reports, the figures released by the Health Ministry on Thursday indicate that the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country have reached 141,145, as the pandemic has taken the lives of 7 patients over the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, 228 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 68 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.

More than 6,997,050 million individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 7,224,056 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.

Some 991 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.

The ministry also said that over 64.35 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 57.57 million have received the second dosage, and more than 27.08 million have gotten the booster shots.
