Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman extended messages of condolences to Pakistan and Bangladesh over deaths of dozens of people in separate accidents.

According to Tasnim news agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani stated on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran expresses sympathy to the government, people, and Army of Pakistan, particularly the families of those killed in a recent helicopter crash.

On Monday, a helicopter belonging to Pakistan's Air Force crashed during a late-night mission in the country's south-west, killing all six people on board.

This is the second time in two months that a military helicopter has crashed in Pakistan.

On August 1, 2022, a military chopper carrying top officials, including a Baluchistan commander, vanished while inspecting flood-ravaged areas of the province; the crash was later confirmed.

Also in another message, the Iranian spokesperson expressed condolences to Bangladesh over the deaths of at least 61 people who lost their lives as a result of the sinking of an overcrowded ferry carrying Hindu devotees in northern Bangladesh.

The small boat packed with mostly women and children on their way to a popular temple flipped over in the Karatoya River on Sunday as onlookers screamed in horror from the shore near Boda town in the northern Panchagarh district.

The death toll was the worst for a maritime disaster in the country since 2015, when at least 78 people died after an overcrowded ferry collided with a cargo vessel in a river west of the capital, Dhaka.
