Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman offered condolences to Turkey over the casualties in an explosion inside a coal mine that has killed at least 41 people.

Following the tragic explosion at the mine in Turkey that killed and wounded a number of workers there, Nasser Kan'ani offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives as well as the friendly and brotherly nation and government of Turkey.

According to Tasnim news agency quoting the Ministry’s website, Kan'ani wished divine mercy for those killed, patience for their families and fast recovery for the wounded.

The blast occurred on Friday at the state-owned TTK Amasra Muessese Mudurlugu mine in the town of Amasra, in the Black Sea coastal Province of Bartin.

The Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said 58 miners had survived the blast, “either by themselves or thanks to rescuers”.
