Iran, Belgium hope to broaden ties
The foreign ministers of Iran and Belgium in a telephone conversation hoped for the expansion of relations between the two countries.
According to Tasnim news agency, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a telephone conversation with his Belgian counterpart Hadja Lahbib on Monday.
The two senior diplomats discussed issues of mutual interest in the phone call.
Amir-Abdollahian and Lahbib expressed hope that the bilateral ties between Tehran and Brussels would develop in light of joint efforts and cooperation.
They also discussed the latest state of consular cooperation between Iran and Belgium.
In a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo in May 2022, Iran's President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi expressed support for the efforts to broaden relations between Tehran and Brussels.
Highlighting the suitable grounds and capacities for the promotion of cooperation, President Raeisi said exploiting the potential capacities in the bilateral ties would pave the way for closer cooperation between the two countries.
