  • Iran’s president urges int’l action to halt Israeli atrocities

In meetings with a number of new foreign ambassadors to Tehran, Iran's president called for concerted action by the international community to help the Palestinian people and end the Zionist regime’s atrocities against the Gaza Strip.

According to Tasnim news agency, Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi received the credentials of the new ambassadors of Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Tunisia, and Slovenia in separate meetings on Tuesday.

In the meeting with the Tunisian envoy, the president lauded the North African country for adopting decisive stances in support of Palestine and rejecting the normalization of ties with the Israeli regime.

Stressing the need for Muslims' solidarity with the Palestinian nation, President Raeisi said, “The dismal tragedy and the anti-human crimes that are committed by the Zionist regime with the direct support of Americans in Gaza these days bring shame on those countries that have chosen to normalize ties with this racist and criminal regime.”

In another meeting with the new ambassador of Slovenia, the Iranian president denounced the ongoing attacks on Gaza as a crime against humanity.

He also reminded the international organizations and institutions of their responsibility to force the Israeli regime to stop its acts of aggression against Gaza.

Speaking to the new ambassador of Brazil, President Raeisi said Iran and Brazil share views about the issue of Palestine.

He also urged the United Nations Security Council to push for the delivery of humanitarian aids to Gaza, cessation of the bombardment of the enclave, lifting the siege of Gaza, and restoration of the rights of Palestinians.

“The continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes against the defenseless people of Gaza puts heavier responsibility on the international organizations,” Raeisi stated.

More than 5,000 people have been massacred and over 15,000 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas launched a multi-pronged operation into the Israeli-Occupied Territories of Palestine.
