Pars Today - It seems that the deployment of two US strike groups near Iran's maritime borders is more of a military show and a result of the US's outdated strategy.

The US National Security Council announced that Washington cannot predict what Iran is thinking. Based on this, the US has sent more military forces to counter the resistance axis. The volume of equipment sent is unprecedented in history.

According to Pars Today, the US Navy's strike group is also one of these, and as a mobile military base in the world's waters, it can be ranked among the top 20 countries and air powers in the world.

The strike group consists of an aircraft carrier, a cruiser, four to six destroyers, a submarine, a support ship, about 75 military aircraft, and 7,500 sailors and marines. US aircraft carriers are usually named after the country's presidents.

According to the latest update on the deployment of the US Navy in the world, the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and the strike group USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) are stationed in the Sea of Oman.

The cruiser USS Daniel Inouye and destroyers USS Halsey and USS John McCain are accompanying the Roosevelt. The cruiser USS Frank Petersen and destroyers USS Spruance and USS O'Kane are accompanying the Lincoln.

However, on June 22, the Yemeni army announced that it had targeted the USS Eisenhower, an unprecedented event in US military history since World War II. The US immediately withdrew the Eisenhower from the Red Sea, but at the same time said that nothing had happened!

It seems that the deployment of two strike groups near Iran's maritime borders is more of a military show and a result of the US's outdated strategy.

US military commanders are aware of the range of Iranian weapons. The Abou Mahdi cruise missile has an operational range of over 1,000 kilometers. In addition, the Khalij-e Fars and Hormoz-2 missiles are two Iranian anti-ship ballistic missiles that cover the entire Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Therefore, if the Roosevelt and Lincoln strike groups had intended to engage in direct combat with Iran, they would have had to be stationed at least 1,000 kilometers away from Iran's maritime borders, which would have put them within range of Yemen and would have suffered the same fate as the Eisenhower.

In fact, in the current military space, the most expensive weapon in history is vulnerable to the cheapest weapons, such as Yemeni drones. Now, in the scenario of a US naval battle with missile powers like Iran and China, the bigger the target, the easier it is to hit with missiles.

The US can take defensive action against Iran's potential response to Israel. Because if the level of tension is raised and a direct attack is launched on Iranian facilities in the Persian Gulf or targets within Iran, the US aircraft carriers will face Iranian missile counterattacks.
