Iran becoming Islamic world's technological hub; launching international innovation district
Pars Today - The International Innovation District of Iran was launched at Tehran Pardis Technology Park with the aim of turning Iran into the technological hub of the Islamic world.
The International Innovation District of Iran is run on the axis of Tehran Pardis Technology Park and real and legal persons can enjoy the services and advantages of this district. According to Pars Today, Hossein Afshin, Vice- President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during the inauguration of the International Innovation District of Iran, emphasized on the serious resolve and effort of his vice-presidency department to support the speedy move of the activists of bio-technology and innovation in Iran.
Pointing to the historical course of Iran's scientific, technological and innovative move for the recent decades, Afshin said, "In 2000s, a serious and effective move took place in knowledge-production in Iran and in 2010s, [the country] achieved a notable growth in knowledge-based companies with a focus on technology; but this is not enough and this move should continue more rapidly."
It should be noted that, during the post-Islamic Revolution era, Iran's share of the global knowledge-production has increased 180 fold. The production of articles by Iranian researchers has also grown 55 times after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
New Scientist magazine reported, "Iran enjoys the fastest rate of scientific growth and is among the most advanced countries in the field of scientific products. The rate of scientific growth in Iran is 11 times more than the global average. This figure shows the country's high speed in reducing its distance with the developed and advanced countries."
