University of Tehran professor: Syria has three options ahead

Pars Today - An Iranian university professor and political activist pointed to the recent developments in Syria in the social media platform X, saying that there are three options for the future of Syria.

Foad Izadi, a political activist and professor at the University of Tehran's Faculty of World Studies, wrote on the X social network on Sunday, "There are three options for the future of Syria; the first option is to become another Libya, and the second option is to become a new servant of the United States and the child-killing regime."

According to Izadi, the third option for Syria is to support the Palestinian people and remain in the resistance axis in foreign policy and reform the weaknesses of the past in domestic policy.

Izadi added that the people of Syria and the people and government of Iran agree on the third being the best option.

The Syrian army command announced the fall of the government of Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, in a statement this morning (December 8th).

The statement was released after the capture of Damascus by armed groups and the news of Bashar al-Assad's departure from Damascus.
