Tehran to host first UN Global Urban Tourism Forum

Pars Today - Tehran’s Mayor announced that the city will host the first Global Urban Tourism Forum this summer.

Mayor Alireza Zakani stated on Friday that, following agreements at the UN World Tourism Organization’s regional meeting in Jakarta, Tehran was selected to host the first Global Urban Tourism Forum.

According to Pars Today, he said, “The first Global Urban Tourism Forum will be held on June 24 and 25, 2025, hosted by Tehran Municipality in the Abbasabad cultural and tourism site.”

The mayor emphasized the importance of this international event, adding, “This forum provides a valuable opportunity to showcase Tehran’s tourism potential, enhance international interactions, attract foreign investment, and develop urban tourism infrastructure.”

Recently, the Iranian city of Isfahan was also selected, with the approval of over 30 member countries of the UN Tourism Organization, to host the 38th East Asia and Pacific Regional Commission meeting in 2025.
