Pars Today – The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization described cold plasma technology in Iran as an effective treatment for chronic wounds.

Iran has taken a major step in treating chronic wounds by localizing advanced cold plasma technology. Cold plasma is a novel therapeutic method used to treat various types of wounds, including diabetic, infected, and bedsores. This technique uses ionized gas without generating heat, helping wounds to heal faster. Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, cold plasma eliminates bacteria and pathogens and accelerates the healing process by stimulating tissue repair mechanisms.

According to Pars Today, quoting IRNA, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said on Tuesday during the delivery of cold plasma devices to the Farabi Medical Center in Isfahan:

“Cold plasma technology, which has been localized and successfully developed by the country’s nuclear scientists, is considered an effective treatment for chronic wounds.”

He added that this technology is currently available in nine hospitals across Iran, with four of them already officially using it. Eslami noted that wound clinics in five hospitals equipped with this technology will soon begin official operations.

He further stated that cold plasma technology significantly reduces complications for patients suffering from chronic wounds.

Eslami emphasized that only a limited number of countries possess this technology, and Iranian scientists have localized it through extensive research and effort. He stressed that the technology is not imported, so no one can erase this knowledge.

He also announced that, with the support of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the largest wound clinic in the country will open in Isfahan within two months and will begin providing services to patients.
