Araqchi: Close Iran–Russia cooperation an effective response to illegal Western sanctions

Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister described closer cooperation between Tehran and Moscow as an effective step in confronting illegal Western sanctions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi wrote on the social media platform X on Thursday, at the conclusion of his visit to Russia, that closer cooperation between Moscow and Tehran would make it possible to take more effective action against illegal Western sanctions, strengthen regional stability, advance infrastructure projects, and prevent unlawful actions at the United Nations Security Council.

Emphasizing that neighboring countries are a priority in Iran’s foreign policy, Araqchi added that, based on the Strategic Partnership Treaty between Iran and Russia, the foreign ministries of the two countries have agreed on a three-year roadmap to organize bilateral cooperation and coordination and elevate them to a higher level.
