Pars Today – The foreign ministers of Iran and Cuba emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly within the framework of the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter and the Non-Aligned Movement.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, and Bruno Rodríguez, Cuba’s foreign minister, held a phone conversation on Monday night to discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

According to Pars Today, the talks included discussions on the existing potential to expand relations between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, as well as strengthening coordination at the level of international organizations.

Araghchi condemned the US military aggression against Venezuela, describing it as a clear violation of the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law. He emphasized the responsibility of all governments, as well as the United Nations, to firmly and unequivocally oppose this dangerous breach of law.

Araghchi also praised the Cuban people and government for standing firm against illegal economic pressures and foreign threats.

Cuba’s foreign minister also condemned the illegal and destabilizing actions of the United States in the Caribbean and Latin America, particularly the recent unlawful aggression against Venezuela and the abduction of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, emphasizing Cuba’s steadfastness in the face of foreign threats.

Rodríguez also highlighted the necessity for cooperation and coordination among friendly countries to counter aggressive unilateralism in the world.
