Pars Today – The Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, along with a group of Sunni scholars from Iran, met and held talks with the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament emphasized the importance of the joint presence of Shia and Sunni scholars in Malaysia, stating that this presence can present a clear image of the peaceful coexistence of Shia and Sunni Muslims in the Islamic Republic of Iran to the people of Malaysia and the world.

According to Pars Today, Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari also introduced the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, explaining its history, founding, and objectives, and expressed appreciation for the active participation of Malaysian institutions and organizations in the Islamic Unity and Palestine Conference.

Additionally, a group of Sunni scholars from Iran, referring to the favorable status of Sunnis in the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated that Sunnis in Iran have approximately 18,000 mosques and 600 religious schools, highlighting a significant increase in Sunni religious activities since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

They emphasized that Friday prayers Imams and Sunni preachers in Iran enjoy full freedom to express their views and opinions, with no restrictions in this regard. They also noted the special attention of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to the affairs of Sunnis in Iran and urged Malaysian officials not to pay attention to negative propaganda and media campaigns by the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
