Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament warned holders of U.S. treasury bonds in Arab countries, saying: “Sell your bonds while you still have the chance. Their real front line is the yield curve of U.S. bonds.”

According to Pars Today, Mohammad‑Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, reacting to reports of restrictions on bond sales by the UAE and Arab states, wrote on his account on X: “Currency‑swap lines, according to the U.S. Treasury Secretary, have been activated to ‘prevent irregular sales of U.S. assets’ by Arab countries. This news means that some bond shareholders cannot freely sell their holdings and have been restricted by the United States in liquidating their assets!”

The Speaker pointed to the sensitivity of the U.S. financial system regarding the sale of treasury bonds and added: “In reality, there is an unwritten cap on sales that state and institutional investors are required to observe. If the situation escalates, the door to selling these holdings will be completely shut!”

Ghalibaf continued, warning the holders of such bonds: “Get out while open. Their frontline is the yield curve.”
