Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson described the Israeli regime’s assault on vessels of the humanitarian “Sumoud 2” flotilla in international waters and the violent detention of activists supporting the people of Palestine as a terrorist act.
Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the humanitarian nature of the international “Sumoud” campaign—which was formed with the participation of supporters of the Palestinian cause from dozens of countries and aims to break the unjust siege of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the oppressed Palestinian people—stressed that the Israeli regime’s attack on the “Sumoud” convoy was not only an assault on a humanitarian relief mission, but also a blow to the awakened conscience of humanity and shared human values.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Baqaei also referred to the transfer of the captives from the “Sumoud” convoy to the notorious Ketziot prison, which is known as a symbol of torture and inhumane treatment by the occupying regime toward Palestinian prisoners. He stated that their transfer to this prison, along with the insulting and inhumane behavior of the Israeli regime’s minister of internal security toward them, is another sign of the regime’s moral decline.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the responsibility of the international community, the United Nations, and all governments to condemn the continued lawbreaking by the Israeli regime and hold the occupiers accountable, as well as to fully support the humanitarian campaign backing the people of Gaza and the global demand for the immediate release of the detainees.
