Iran’s UN Mission: Only solution to Strait of Hormuz crisis is permanent end to war

Iran’s UN Mission
Pars Today – The Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, in reaction to the U.S.-proposed draft resolution to the Security Council, announced that the only sustainable solution to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz is a permanent end to the war and the lifting of the naval blockade.
According to Pars Today, quoting IRIB News Agency, Iran’s Mission to the UN said on Wednesday that the United States is advancing an incomplete and politically motivated draft resolution in the UN Security Council under the pretext of “freedom of navigation,” in order to push forward its own political agenda and legitimize its illegal actions—rather than to resolve the crisis.
The Iranian Mission stressed that Iran calls on member states to act based on logic, fairness, and principle, not under pressure; and to reject this draft while refraining from supporting or co‑sponsoring it.
U.S. President Donald Trump, in a retreat on Wednesday, claimed that the so‑called “Project Operation” would be temporarily suspended in an effort to reach an agreement to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump’s claim came despite U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announcing on Tuesday that, at the direction of President Donald Trump, the anti‑Iran draft resolution regarding the Strait of Hormuz had already been submitted to the UN Security Council.
