Pars Today –The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the threatening rhetoric of US officials against the Sultanate of Oman.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, early on Friday, he described the US Treasury Secretary's threat to impose sanctions on Oman — following a previous threat to "destroy" Oman — as an attempt to blackmail an independent member state of the United Nations and another sign of the moral bankruptcy of the governance system and policymaking in America.
The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that threatening to impose sanctions on Oman under a false pretext is an absolutely illegal act contrary to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law. He added that the international community must respond responsibly to this approach to prevent the increasing normalization of violations of international legal norms.
