Pars Today - Iran's youth Greco-Roman wrestling team has claimed the top spot at the Asian Championships.
According to Pars Today, citing Mehr News Agency, the Asian Youth Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships were being held on Friday (May 29) in Vietnam, featuring the final three weight classes, and based on the results obtained, Iran's team title has been secured.
On Friday's competitions, Iran's national wrestler Esmail Zaherdoost reached the final in the 71 kg weight class, while Hamed Dehghan-Zadeh (65 kg) and Mehdi Gholami (80 kg) advanced to the bronze medal matches.
Earlier, Iran's Greco-Roman wrestling team had already won 6 gold medals.
Thus, considering the number of gold medals earned as well as the presence of three Iranian representatives in the final and bronze medal matches on the final day, Iran's Greco-Roman wrestling team secured an early championship title at the Asian Championships.
