Pars Today – Iran’s Foreign Minister said at a meeting with foreign ambassadors, chargé d’affaires, and heads of foreign and international missions based in Tehran that ending the war in Lebanon is an inseparable part of ending the war completely, and that the end of the war also includes ending the occupation.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi said at the meeting that, due to difficulties in reaching an agreement between Iran and the United States following the aggression of the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, Iran ultimately decided to divide the negotiations into two stages.

Araghchi said that in the first stage, the sides would negotiate issues including ending the war, the Strait of Hormuz, the naval blockade, reconstruction, and related matters, reaching a memorandum of understanding before continuing talks for 60 days toward a final agreement. He added that the final agreement would address nuclear issues and the lifting of sanctions.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that this was Iran’s path in the negotiations, adding that after three months of talks, which began at the start of the war and continued until June 15, the first stage had finally been completed.

Araghchi noted that the most important development in the first stage was the announcement of the end of the war. He said that based on the decision made, the end of the war was announced from Monday morning after the final agreement was reached, while the formal implementation of the memorandum would begin on Friday.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that the end of the war in Lebanon is an inseparable part of a complete end to the war, adding that ending the war also requires ending the occupation. He said that without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they occupied during the war, the war cannot be considered fully ended.

Araghchi further stated that, from Iran’s perspective, any future military attack by the Israeli regime against Lebanon or the continued occupation of Lebanese territory would be considered a violation of the memorandum of understanding.
