Pars Today – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, announcing the Iranian delegation's trip to Switzerland, has said that in these negotiations, they intend to press for the implementation of the other side's commitments and to clarify how the other party intends to fulfill its obligations.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Baqaei emphasized: "Under Clause 13 of the Memorandum of Understanding, the commencement of Iran-U.S. negotiations for a final agreement is conditional upon the initiation and continued implementation of the other party's commitments based on Clauses 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that this condition has not yet been met due to the other party's lack of compliance, and that this trip is precisely intended to clarify how these commitments will be fulfilled.

Baqaei also said that Clause 1 of the Memorandum of Understanding—namely, "the cessation of war on all fronts, including in Lebanon"—is the cornerstone of the mutual commitments.

He emphasized that while Iran has upheld its obligations, the other party was obliged to force the Zionist regime to cease fire in Lebanon, but by neglecting to do so, has clearly violated the understanding.

The Iranian diplomat noted that although some measures have been taken regarding the lifting of the naval blockade and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, this Memorandum of Understanding is a "single package." Violation of Clause 1 calls the entire agreement into question, and if the other party does not immediately take the necessary measures, the overall understanding will face serious jeopardy.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that Iran reached this Memorandum of Understanding after several weeks of intensive negotiations, diplomacy with the efforts of international mediators, Tehran's demonstration of good faith, and—most importantly—backed by the manifestation of field power and national cohesion. "Therefore, we have not signed a commitment that lacks enforcement guarantees. Naturally, we will spare no effort in operationalizing every single clause of this document."

He emphasized: "The logic governing Iran's foreign policy is entirely clear: 'commitment in exchange for commitment, and action in exchange for action.' The sustainability of this agreement depends on the other party's conduct. If the enemy refuses to fulfill its commitments or obstructs their implementation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on its strategic capabilities, will certainly take reciprocal, regret-inducing, and decisive measures."
