Pars Today – The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry said following the conclusion of the Burgenstock talks that Iran's delegation believes "the other side must be held accountable for implementing its commitments."

According to Pars Today, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, told IRIB News after the end of the Bürgenstock meeting that discussions were held on the remaining provisions necessary to begin final negotiations. He added that talks covered the issuance of the required licenses for Iranian oil sales and the release of Iran's frozen assets, with good progress achieved.

Baghaei further emphasized that the parties also agreed to establish a mechanism to ensure the safe passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, describing the issue as important.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, "We had a very long day. The meetings began on Sunday morning. During the four-party session, a threatening statement from the United States was released, which led Iran to announce that it was not prepared to continue the meeting in that format. Qatar and Pakistan then worked to keep the talks going, and we stated that any further discussions would not be held in a four-party framework."

Baghaei added that during the four-party meetings, and beforehand, Iran expressed its concerns regarding the other side's failure to honor its commitments, particularly the continued violations of the ceasefire by the Israeli regime. In this regard, a new mechanism involving the mediators was established to monitor the end of the conflict and the maintenance of the ceasefire in Lebanon, with the aim of ensuring lasting peace.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, "The view of the Iranian delegation is that we must hold the other side accountable for implementing its commitments."

He added that the negotiating team's work has concluded at this stage, while technical teams will continue their work on Monday. He also said that the two mediators, Qatar and Pakistan, will issue a document that will serve as the record of the agreements reached during 18 hours of negotiations.
