Pars Today – The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) of Iran, emphasizing that unity among Islamic countries is essential and inevitable, has said that Islamic nations must learn from the recent war experience.

According to a Pars Today report citing IRNA, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met and held talks with Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Iran's Parliament Speaker, on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC).

In this meeting, Qalibaf emphasized that unity among Islamic countries is essential and inevitable, and stated: "Fortunately, relations between the two countries have developed over recent months, and I hope this trend continues to expand."

Referring to the enemy's use of the territory and airspace of some countries against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said: "Now the experience of this war is before everyone's eyes, and all must learn from it."

Qalibaf, stressing the need to develop parliamentary relations, wished the Republic of Azerbaijan success and prosperity in hosting the PUIC conference.

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, also emphasized the need to pursue bilateral projects during the meeting and called for increased parliamentary relations and friendship groups.

She further stressed: "We will not allow the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to be used against neighboring countries, especially Iran."
