Pars Today – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister responded to a CENTCOM security meeting with regional countries, stating that the Strait of Hormuz is defined under Iran’s command, not that of CENTCOM.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and chief negotiator, wrote in a post on the social media platform X on Thursday:

“A military meeting in Bahrain cannot establish a legal or security order for the Persian Gulf.”

He added:

“Regional security will be ensured through the end of U.S. intervention and its withdrawal from the region, respect for national sovereignty, and acceptance of new geopolitical realities—not under the umbrella of U.S. military presence.”
