Pars Today – During a meeting with Russia’s energy minister, the Iranian president stressed the need to accelerate the implementation of strategic agreements between Tehran and Moscow and announced the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to remove obstacles facing joint projects.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev, referred to the strategic level of relations between Tehran and Moscow and the extensive agreements between the two countries, saying:
“Your presence in Iran and your consultations with Iranian officials reflect the serious determination and commitment of both sides to implement these agreements. It is expected that these agreements will move from the discussion stage to the operational phase as soon as possible.”
He pointed to the vast potential for cooperation in the fields of energy, oil, gas, petrochemicals, industry, trade in essential goods, the development of transit corridors, and other economic sectors, and stressed:
“Given the determination and motivation at the highest levels of both countries, including that of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to expand cooperation, it is unacceptable for the implementation of joint projects to proceed slowly.”
Pezeshkian also referred to unilateral policies and the use of pressure and sanctions to force independent countries into submission, stating:
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia, and other independent countries around the world reject unilateralism and attempts to impose one’s will on other nations. Scientific, industrial, economic, and executive cooperation in the face of unilateralists and bullies can neutralize the effects of pressure and sanctions and help pave the way for a fairer international order.”
During the meeting, the Russian energy minister emphasized Moscow’s strong commitment to implementing the joint agreements and announced the formation of specialized working groups for each project. He said:
“Our goal is to achieve tangible and practical results from our joint cooperation in order to demonstrate that Iran and Russia are moving in the right direction in developing their strategic relations.”
Sergei Tsivilev also referred to the positive attitude of Russian public opinion and officials toward the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating:
“In Russia, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s independent positions and its resistance to external pressure are regarded with respect, and we are proud to have reliable friends such as Iran.”
The Russian energy minister stressed:
“Just as the Islamic Republic of Iran has stood firm against bullying and external pressure, Russia, too, will never surrender to policies based on coercion.”
