Iran’s women’s sitting volleyball team reach world’s top eight
Pars Today – Iran’s national women’s sitting volleyball team defeated Germany 3–0 to secure a place among the world’s top eight teams for the first time.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Iran faced Germany in the round of 16 of the World Sitting Volleyball Championships.
The Iranian team won the first set 25–16, the second 25–17, and the third 25–14, completing a straight-sets victory to advance to the quarterfinals and make history by reaching the world’s top eight for the first time.
Iran will now take on Canada in the quarterfinals.
The teams finishing first and second in the tournament will qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games.
