Pars Today – Iran’s deputy foreign minister stated that there are currently no negotiations underway and that Iran’s course of action is to defend the country.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, said in response to a question about the future of talks with the United States: “We were engaged in negotiations, but unfortunately the Americans themselves violated their commitments under the memorandum of understanding and carried out these acts of aggression.”

He added: “What we are currently facing is the need to defend the country decisively, and the Americans have once again received their answer: such aggressive actions will lead nowhere. If they are wise, they should choose other approaches.”

The Iranian deputy foreign minister also said: “For us, the path ahead at this moment is the resolute defense of the country and teaching the aggressors a lesson.”

Gharibabadi continued: “In practice, the United States has violated and suspended all of its commitments, and we, too, have suspended our obligations under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding and are no longer implementing those commitments.”
