Baghaei: By attacking Iran’s infrastructure, U.S once again showed its destructive logic

Pars Today — Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said that the United States has once again revealed its destructive logic by attacking civilian facilities and infrastructure.

According to Pars Today, citing Tasnim News Agency, Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, said at his weekly press conference on Monday, referring to the U.S. war against Iran:

“They targeted our civilian facilities and infrastructure in several provinces, and in doing so once again exposed America’s destructive logic. An attack on infrastructure is not merely an attack on a few points on a map; it is an attack on human security and people’s lives.”

U.S. Bad Faith in Diplomacy and Negotiations

Addressing the United States’ bad faith in diplomacy and negotiations, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said:

“Insisting on the false choice between negotiation and war is not beneficial for the country. It is wrong to assume that diplomacy excludes defense, or that defense is incompatible with diplomacy. Diplomacy and defense are two wings, and if either fails to fulfill its role, our system of governance cannot function properly. Just as we take pride in and support those who defend the homeland, we must also support our diplomats.”

Commenting on Iran’s suspension of its commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, Esmaeil Baghaei said:

“From the outset, the logic behind the memorandum was clear: commitment in exchange for commitment. As long as the other side fulfilled its obligations, we did the same. We are not the ones who initiate violations of agreements. When they failed to honor their commitments, we announced that we would no longer implement ours. An understanding retains value only as long as both parties remain committed to it; otherwise, it is merely words on paper. We will continue to act on this basis.”

“The Sole Responsibility for Any Expansion of the War Lies with the United States”

Commenting on the possibility of the conflict spreading across the region, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said:

“The sole responsibility for any expansion of the war rests with the United States. By insisting on using the territory of regional countries and violating their sovereignty, the United States is continuing its attacks. We harbor no hostility toward any country; we are neighbors. We expect the countries of the region, in accordance with their obligations, to prevent the United States from using their territory to launch attacks against an Islamic nation. Our actions are an exercise of the right to self-defense, and our armed forces will respond.”

“The Attack on Darkhovin Shows That the United States Has a Problem with Iran’s Scientific and Industrial Progress”

Addressing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s silence regarding the attack on the Darkhovin nuclear site in Khuzestan Province, Esmaeil Baghaei said:

“Such silence and indifference certainly do not strengthen our confidence in the Agency. Moreover, the Agency’s failure to take a position does not alter the fundamental issue. The core issue is the attack on a country’s peaceful nuclear facilities, which is contrary to international law.”

He added: “This attack is deeply revealing and demonstrates that America’s allegations against Iran are false. The Darkhovin facility was intended to be used for energy production. This attack shows that the United States has a problem with Iran’s scientific and industrial development.”
