Araghchi warns Bulgaria: Participation in military aggression against Iran carries consequences

Pars Today – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Bulgarian counterpart, condemned Bulgaria's approval of a U.S. request to deploy military aircraft at Bezmer Air Base in support of military operations.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Araghchi spoke by telephone on Thursday with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova, briefing her on the latest regional developments, the continuation of U.S. aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Washington's role in escalating tensions in West Asia.
The Iranian foreign minister said that Bulgaria's agreement to allow the deployment of U.S. military aircraft at Bezmer Air Base in support of military operations is condemnable, unacceptable, and inconsistent with the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries. He urged the Bulgarian government to urgently reconsider its decision.
Citing Article 3 of UN General Assembly Resolution 3314, which defines aggression, Araghchi stated:
"Making the territory of one state available to another state for the purpose of committing an act of aggression against a third state constitutes an act of aggression."
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not hesitate to defend its national interests and security against any act of aggression, adding:
"Any party that participates in a military attack against Iran in any way will certainly have to bear responsibility for the consequences."
During the conversation, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova recalled the history of positive relations between the two countries, stating that Bulgaria has no intention of participating in the war and reaffirmed her country's support for diplomacy and efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
