IRGC Navy: Strait of Hormuz is closed

Pars Today – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Command announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and that any passage through it will only be possible with coordination from the IRGC Navy.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, the IRGC Navy Command wrote on social media: “CENTCOM falsely claims that maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is ongoing and that shipping companies can pass through the strait without difficulty under US escort. However, the reality is that the Strait of Hormuz is closed, and any passage will only be possible with coordination from the IRGC Navy.”

Meanwhile, the Persian Gulf Waterway Management Authority announced that, due to the continuation of aggressive actions by US military forces in the region, transit through the Strait of Hormuz is currently not possible.

The statement added: “Once stability and calm are restored, all requests will be reviewed according to order and scheduling, and permits will gradually be issued.”
