Iranian swimmer wins second gold at West Asia Championships

Pars Today – Iranian swimmer Homer Abbasi won the gold medal in the men's 50-meter backstroke on the second day of the West Asian Swimming Championships.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Abbasi secured first place in the 50-meter backstroke event in Astana, Kazakhstan, with a time of 25.76 seconds.

He had previously won the championship title in the 100-meter backstroke after recording a time of 57.45 seconds.

Abbasi was also named the best male swimmer of the tournament in the over-18 age category.

The competition is part of Abbasi’s preparation program for the 2026 Asian Games, where he will be one of Iran’s representatives in swimming.
