Iran Foreign Ministry: France, Western partners’ anti-Iran statement hypocritical deflection

Pars Today – Hamid Ahmadi, Acting Director General of the Human Rights Department at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned a joint statement issued by France and several Western countries against the Islamic Republic of Iran under the pretext of human rights, describing it as a clear example of hypocritical deflection.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Hamid Ahmadi said on Thursday, August 13, that France and several Western countries’ decision to issue a joint statement against the Islamic Republic of Iran under the pretext of human rights was a repeated attempt to evade accountability for these countries’ role in grave violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in various parts of the world, including Africa and West Asia, particularly in relation to Iranian citizens.

The Acting Director General of the Human Rights Department at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalling France’s dark colonial history in Africa and other parts of the world, as well as its interventionist actions in several African countries that have directly or indirectly resulted in the killing of and human rights violations against millions of innocent people, advised French officials to stop lecturing others and instead address their racist treatment of nationals of other countries and migrants, and to end their comprehensive, unconditional, and inhumane support for the genocidal and occupying Israeli regime.

The Acting Director General of the Human Rights Department at Iran’s Foreign Ministry said: “The statement by this group of Western countries on the issue of human rights in Iran was issued at a time when the Iranian people have not forgotten the shameful silence of its authors in the face of the illegal military aggression by the US and Israeli regimes against the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, nor the crimes such as the unjust killing of 168 innocent people at Minab School and several thousand other innocent people in dozens of other crimes during the 12-day and 40-day imposed wars.”
