Araghchi: Iran and Tajikistan are heirs to ancient Persian civilization
Pars Today — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a meeting Saturday evening with Tajikistan’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma and Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim, stressed the need to utilize the diverse capacities of both countries to develop and strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the economic and trade sectors.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Araghchi said that Iran and Tajikistan, as heirs to the ancient Persian civilization, have always stood by each other and shared both difficult and prosperous times.
Referring to reciprocal visits by the presidents of Iran and Tajikistan and the agreements reached during those visits, Araghchi emphasized the need to make use of the two countries’ diverse capacities to further develop bilateral ties, particularly in the economic and commercial fields.
During the meeting, which was also attended by Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Farrukh Sharifzoda, the Tajik ministers expressed satisfaction with the excellent level of relations between the two friendly countries and stressed the serious determination of Tajikistan’s senior officials to further expand bilateral cooperation, including in the energy and transportation sectors.
The Tajik ministers also welcomed their talks with their Iranian counterparts and expressed hope that, through the establishment of joint working groups and agreed mechanisms, the two sides would see the implementation of the understandings reached, particularly in the fields of energy and transportation.
