Araghchi: Islamic countries should respond responsibly to Iran’s sovereignty violation
Pars Today — In a phone call with the new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stressed the need for Islamic countries to respond responsibly to violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and to provide firm support for the rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the new Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, on Monday night, expressed hope that the new secretary-general would make use of the organization’s capabilities to help strengthen unity and coordination among Islamic countries in addressing developments and challenges facing the Muslim world.
During the phone call, Araghchi briefed the OIC secretary-general on the latest regional developments following the U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran and stressed the need for Islamic countries to respond responsibly to violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to oppose the use of force and aggression.
The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the critical circumstances and challenges facing the Muslim world, particularly the continuation of Israeli aggression and crimes in Palestine and Lebanon. He stressed the need for firm support for the rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples and for Islamic countries to adopt unified and effective positions on these developments.
