Iran keen to have nuclear interaction with regional states: Salehi
The Iranian nuclear chief says the Islamic Republic is ready to cooperate with regional countries on the development of nuclear energy.
Addressing the annual World Nuclear Association Symposium in London on Friday, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Ali Akbar Salehi, said the Persian Gulf littoral states are interested in developing nuclear energy and expressed Tehran’s readiness to transfer its experience to them in this field.
He pointed to the AEOI’s increasing cooperation with international nuclear industry enterprises after the implementation of last year’s nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and invited firms interested in cooperation with Tehran to participate in the organization’s projects.
Salehi also said Iran plans to produce 20,000 megawatts of nuclear electricity and said, "Making investments on small 100-megawat power plants are among Iran's priorities in this regard."
