Iran's Parliament Speaker sees UN Congress measure as deception

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that the extension of Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) by the US Congress is a blatant deceptive act.

"The action taken recently by the US Congress and the House of Representatives to extend sanctions on Iran for another ten years is surely in violation of some articles of the nuclear deal reached by Iran and the major world powers including the US in July, 2015," Larijani told reporters on Tuesday.

"I believe that the decision by the US Congress is surely a measure of deception," the Iranian parliament speaker added.

Larijani reiterated that the measure is certainly unacceptable.

His remarks came in reaction to the extension of the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) by the US Senate on Thursday that clearly violates the last year nuclear deal. Iranian officials have warned that Tehran has prepared itself for showing a tough and proper reaction.
