Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly (Parliament), Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, underlined that stronger relations between Iran and Pakistan is vital for restoring peace, security and prosperity to the region.
"Iran and Pakistan are intertwined by stronger multi-dimensional relations," Sadiq said in a meeting with Iran's parliamentary delegation in Islamabad.
Stressing Iran’s geopolitical significance, he said, "Iran's role is central to unifying the Muslim world" and underlined the need for pro-active parliamentary diplomacy to further cooperation among the Muslim countries.
A two-member women parliamentary delegation of Iran visited Pakistan to attend an international conference themed 'Role of women parliamentarians in strengthening democracy and social justice'.
The conference kicked off in Islamabad on Monday.
