Pakistan's Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz
Pakistan's Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz emphasized good relations with Tehran, saying that Islamabad in no way wants to take any measure against Iran's interests.
"Efforts are underway to strengthen relations with Iran," Aziz was quoted as saying by the Pakistani Navay-e Vaqt newspaper.
He stressed that Pakistan doesn’t want its companionship with the (Saudi-led) military coalition (against Yemen) to leave any negative impact on its bilateral relations with Tehran.
His remarks came after media reports said that former Pakistani army chief, Raheel Sharif, who was appointed to head the Saudi-led military coalition against Yemen is attempting to find a way for leaving and returning home.
According to the Pakistani newspaper Daily Osaf, Sharif is dissatisfied with the US strong influence on Saudi Arabia and thinks that the coalition cannot move in the direction he had planned.
