Akhoundi sets off for India to attend Global Mobility Summit
Islamic Republic of Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, on Thursday has departed for India to take part in a summit dedicated to promotion of electric vehicles and shared mobility.
According to Mehr News Agency, the minister is scheduled to hold talks with relevant Indian officials and ministers, and deliver a speech at the first Global Mobility Summit-MOVE- hosted by the south Asian country on 7th and 8th September 2018.
According to his schedule, Akhoundi will hold meetings with Indian ministers of shipping, commerce, and railways on the sidelines of the summit.
The summit will be inaugurated by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. According to Indian media, the summit will deliberate on five themes including comprehensive: electrification and alternative fuels, reinventing public transport, goods transport and logistics and data analytics and mobility.
Over 2,200 participants from across the world including leaders from the Indian government, industry, research organizations, academia, think tanks and civil society are expected to participate in the event.
