About 16 killed, 30 injured in northeastern Syria bomb blast
At least 16 people have been killed and 30 more injured in a bomb attack in Syria’s northeastern province of Hasakah, says a UK-based monitoring group.
Three women and two children were among those killed in the Tuesday night attack which took place in the province’s eastern Salihiya neighborhood.
According to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the incident occurred as a bomber riding a motorcycle blew himself up outside a local bakery.
Daesh Takfiri terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack saying it was targeting Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) which mainly control the region.
Meanwhile, the YPG announced that they have killed around 20 Daeshis in the province’s town of al-Shaddadah.
According to a statement released by the Kurdish group, the Takfiri terrorists had launched an offensive against a city on Sunday, which has now been thwarted.
